Yes, yes, it’s Monday again. You had to drag yourself out of bed after an interesting, maybe even fun weekend just to get up to go to work. Whenever you think about Monday, it makes you nauseous, irritated, and for some, it may even get high blood pressure! It’s understandable that bills have to be paid, and you have responsibilities of taking on jobs you dislike, sacrificing your peace day in and out.
If you must work at a place you deeply dislike for the time being, why not make the best out of it? Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” You become a different person when you’re at work; Your attitude, the way you act, and even your breathing changes if you’re at a job you hate but, there is one way to get through your day…by writing someone a motivational phrase and handing it to them.
From now on, EVERY Monday morning, we are going to send motivational six-word poems or haiku’s for you to write down, print, or snapshot, in order for you to pass along a kind word to make someone else’s day. You see, what this does is encourage another coworker who may be feeling the same way you feel. Someone may be on the verge of quitting, crying, or even worse, on the verge of suicide. By taking a moment to pass along a motivating message to make them smile, says a lot about your character, and you will be surprised to know that in return your act of kindness makes you smile as well.
So, from now on, don’t say you hate Mondays! Someone may be listening to you, and feel the same way which only weighs down everyone’s day. Instead, be the reason why someone looks forward to coming to work. Each week, rotate your message by acknowledging someone new at the work place. The world needs more people sending out positive vibes. Let that person start with you.
